Emma has been painting and drawing for over 20 years. At the beginning of 2007 she began to exhibit and sell her work for the first time. She works in watercolour and mixed media and branched into printmaking in 2008.
Emma’s work reflects her keen interest in environmental issues and the natural world, summarised by her first solo exhibition ‘Energies of Nature’ at the Flying Goose Café, Beeston in 2008. In 2009 she held a joint exhibition ‘Landscapes Visions Dreams’ with artist and writer Dave Wood at the Nottingham Society of Artists.
Emma has supplied illustrative work for the environmental charity Global Action Plan and created educational and promotional materials for their EcoTeams project. Her aim is to develop the illustrative side of her work further, working with Dave Wood to illustrate his poem ‘Stealing the River.’ She has also completed a series of woodland paintings which illustrate Haiku by Dave.
She was invited to become an Affiliate member of the Nottingham Society of Artists in 2009.
